Found Some Funnies

We're trying to pack some today. If I already posted these, enjoy again! :)

Me: We could have a cheese crisp and a shake for dinner...
J: Or juice and a party! ... Or ice cream or Chic-fil-A!

Alisa was running across the living room the other morning, stopped, picked something off the bottom of her foot, ate it, and said, "Yummy!" Ew.

Me: We are having a special treat tonight! (Sugar free pudding with bananas)
J: I know what I need! Some white sugar will sure help me feel better!

We checked out a book from the library called "There Was an Old Woman Who Lived in a Boot." It is hilarious. I highly recommend it. The old woman doesn't like children. She buys a potion from a witch down the way, gives it to a bunch of children. Instead of working, the children turn into old "grouches and biddies" that are far worse than she is. It is a great story. So randomly one day Jake smiles at me and announces, "Mom, I am a biddy!"

We had Jake and Hallie go to sleep in our bed a few weeks ago, since the party wouldn't stop with Jake, Alisa, and Hallie in one room. Hallie doesn't like to sleep in the dark. They told me how concerned they were about monsters. After explaining that monsters NEVER come to our house (they are afraid of dad), I told them they could pray to feel better, and that Heavenly Father would protect them. Jake's response: Will Heavenly Father make our muscles big and strong?

Today there was some kind of drug bust right outside of our house. There was a green SUV pulled over and five cop cars behind. There was a point when they man and woman and a police officer were right outside of our front windows. So we took the kids to the back room, just in case something crazy were to happen (we do have some sketchy areas by us!). We were explaining to Jake that there were some bad guys outside and the police officers were making sure it was safe for us. Jake was obsessed, poor kid! We had a little Root Beer Float treat after the bad guys were gone, and Jake was very concerned: Do bad guys like spicy drinks (soda)? Do bad guys eat ice cream? When bad guys die, they will not live with Heavenly Father. They will live with Satan.

Mother's Day and old pictures

I had a wonderful mother's day, thanks to my thoughtful spouse and kids. I slept in (until 7:15 or so) and woke up to french toast (my favorite big breakfast) and cantaloupe, beautiful flowers and some homemade cards (the best kind). Church was normal, except I was lovingly pulled aside by the bishop to see how I was doing (with the whole possible hysterectomy). It was so thoughtful of him, I choked back the tears. I took a nap in the afternoon, cooked no food, did no dishes, bathed no kids. It was blissful! Once the kids were in bed, Scott and I watched the rest of David Copperfield. If you've never seen it, go check it out from the library. It is great! It was a beautiful mother's day and I feel so blessed! Thank you!

Here are some old pictures I thought I'd post. We went to the park a few weeks ago to attempt to fly the kite Grandma Seaman got (a tye fighter? I don't know. It's from Star Wars). We had a fun time even though the flying was unsuccessful.

Scott tried so diligently, I had to snap a picture of it.
They were so cute on the slide together.

Jake's swim teacher. He loved Miss Haley. I think she's brave for donning the strapless suit with a bunch of 4 year olds!
Jake with preschool friend, Emmy Fitch.
Jake with Mrs. Morales. He loves his teacher! She's great!
Jake's turn to be Student of the Week. He was so proud to explain all of the pictures.

Surprise Girl's Weekend

What a crazy trip! It was not a surprise that last weekend was a girl's weekend. My three sisters and mom were meeting in UT for BYU Women's Conference. I was really sad not to go, but didn't think it was possible as I am 7 1/2 months pregnant and Scott is nearing the end of dental school.

My mom called Monday evening and asked if I'd like to use her southwest flight to come... on Wednesday! Somehow, we rearranged schedules and my saintly friend, Christy, watched my kids while Scott was at school on Thursday and Friday. Thank you, thank you, thank you!

And a big shout out to Scott for rearranging his schedule to be at school as little as possible and for braving single parenthood for 5 days! It really is too bad that Alisa chose the night I left to climb out of the crib multiple times and not sleep until 10:30 pm! Ah! Poor Scott. So, Alisa is done with the crib, unless we get lucky and she returns. Jake now goes to sleep in our bed at night. Otherwise, they are partners in crime!

Anyway, we had a wonderful weekend together. Too bad my sisters couldn't go to many classes. It was so fun to be together! We've never done Women's Conference all together, and haven't hung out since before Michelle's mission--2007? It's been awhile. I love my sisters!

These are out of order, but here we go:

Here we are for my late birthday dinner at Cafe Rio. I LOVE that place! A group of cute guys came in and I was picking up on them for my sister, Michelle. Yeah, they came running!
Here's how Michelle decided to get the guys... straws up the nose. Gets 'em every time! We missed my littlest sis, Lisa, who was at work at P.F. Chang's, so...
...we decided to stop by for a little piece of the Great Wall of Chocolate. It was huge and we devoured it! The curly cutie on the end is actually my mom... I know, she looks young! :)
Mud masks and facials the next day, courtesy of Nuskin's greatest employee (thanks, Michelle!).
Even my nephew wanted in on the action--well, he wanted to be Incredible Hulk.
We also stayed up chatting or playing games on Friday and Saturday night until 3 am! Ah! It's been a long time since I've done that. I ended up sleeping in with earplugs on Sunday until 10:37 and hitting 11:00 church.

Women's Conference Pictures. It was good to be back at the Alma Mater. I love the Mariott Center. I just wish my legs, feet, and fingers didn't swell up like sausages. Seriously! I was a puffy mess. Those chairs cut off the circulation--especially on pregnant women!

It was fun to hang out with my Aunt Sandy, too. She's my mom's younger sister and so fun!
Thank you, thank you, thank you, mom! Happy Birthday to me! Yes, Jacqui, to me! :) Thank you for the wonderful weekend.

Good News and Bad News

Good News: I do not have gestational diabetes! Yea. I had to take the 3 hour blood glucose test this time, which I've never had to do and is NOT fun. Everything is okay and I am good to go.

Bad News: Despite all my feelings that my placenta was going to grow up and be completely normal, it is not. I still have placenta previa. I will have another ultrasound in about 5 weeks just to see if they can see anything (if it's moved up or if they can see that I have placenta accreta). It may not be bad news, but if I have placenta accreta (you usually can't tell until the c-section) it means the placenta has grown into the uterine wall and I will most likely have to have a hysterectomy. Ah! So, I would appreciate any prayers on my behalf.

I was pretty upset at first, but I am feeling a lot of peace and hope I can have faith to accept whatever the Father's will is for me.

I will post my fun, last-minute weekend getaway with mom and sisters later (with pictures, I promise). But now is a good time for a nap. Goodnight.
