March 2013

March 2013

My kids look nothing alike! They're faces are priceless.

We had a spring snow and of course took full advantage of playing and sledding at Grandma Seaman's!

Every week Jake has Let's Play Music at Melissa Hansen's house in Doney Park. They girls and I play at the park while he plays music! It's windy and usually pretty cold.

San Diego Spring Break did not disappoint! On the way there Brooklyn was so droopy and wouldn't eat or drink anything. She felt sick, and we watched and waited. Finally, at the peak of her sickness, we happened to pull in to a subway in the middle of the desert. We got out and rushed into the bathroom. Brooklyn threw up and then had diarrhea, and we barely made it on time.We were chagrined, as we were headed to spend the night with Jared and Amanda. She didn't throw up again, but had more diarrhea while we were at the beach. Well, luckily, it was only in the morning and at night, as the beach was multiple staircases down from the bathrooms and the campsite (we were on a cliff).  We booked a campsite at South Carlsbad State Beach, set up our tent, and played at the beach. It was lovely weather and was really nice to fall asleep to the sound of waves! Jared and Amanda joined us that evening. We ate dinner and had a campfire, then Jared headed back to work and Amanda and kids slept in their van. We played at the beach and liked it so much we booked another night (non-beach side was the only available site), moved our tent, and slept there again.

We had a great time at Knott's Berry Farm (although Alisa was just a tad short to go on the big roller coasters, so she was bummed, and Brooke was terrified of the small ferris wheel--while we were on it).  Jake was really brave to go on most of the big rides.

One of the days we went to explore the tide pools. We were having a great time, and ran into the Dunn's from our ward! We should've taken a picture together. Small world! Alisa loved gathering all the little live creatures together in a little hole. It was colder than we anticipated, but so much fun!

Scott went fishing with Tom Brown and the priests at Lake Powell. They had little luck until the end of the day, then caught a whole bunch.

Grandma Crane had all the kids over to dye easter eggs, but Alisa was sick so she and Scott dyed their own at home, which she thought was really special. Grandma and Grandpa Crane had an easter egg hunt and easter baskets for the cousins. It's always a great time. We had Easter dinner at the Seaman's, and Grandma and Grandpa set up an easter candy free-for-all in their yard. The kids had a blast! So much fun and so much candy! True to personalities, Jake gobbled his up, while Alisa saved hers and rationed it out. I never got a shot of my handsome boy on Easter, but my girls were so cute.

With the spring snow, Jake went snowboarding with his friend Noah (Sara took them up). They were alone most of the day (gasp! How can he be old enough?!), meeting up with Sara a couple of times. Meanwhile, Max, the girls, and I had a little play date, complete with a pizza picnic.
