May-June 2013

Kindergarten Graduation program for Alisa. Mrs. Kathie Floyd was a wonderful teacher--just the right amount of grandmotherly love for our special little girl.

As soon as graduation was over, we all loaded into our cars and headed down to Mexico! School wasn't quite out yet. We got back in time for the last half-day of school (what do the kids do the last week of school anyway?!).
Ours was the house with the grass hut thing on the balcony. It's a 4 bedroom, 4 bathroom house with a casita in the front. Perfect size for us! Thanks to Les and Linda for providing this amazing vacation for us!

Tacos de Tiburon. We had Sonia cook for us every evening. There was a plethora of rice, beans, guacamole, and pico de gallo.

The perfect view...

The inside ceiling--dome shaped--makes for interesting acoustics. You can hear everything the best at the edges of the dome (the walls) while the middle sounds get kind of swallowed up.

We had a blast swimming in the ocean, swimming at the neighborhood pool, playing games, exploring, and gathering shells. It's a perfect vacation with the beach right outside the door!

The last day of school was also Brookie's Joy School graduation. Here is our little co-op: Jackson Clouse, Luke Goodman, Treston Crane, Brookie, Aiden McCarol, and Kendra Engler.

At our Ward Barbecue at Bushmaster Park with Brody
Rana Bates did face painting for all the kids. She's so talented and the girls loved how they turned out!

Alisa requested crepes for her birthday and got a huge spread with berries, powdered sugar, Nutella, and whipped cream.

Ever creative, Alisa designed her ice cream sandwich cake, covered it with cool whip, crushed oreos, and m&m's.

Lego building on a Sunday morning!

We went to the library sponsored "Stories on Ice" which is basically ice skating for free. Brookie was very dependent on me to keep her upright. It was exhausting but we had a good time!

Jake got this lego set from Alex Briggs and Melissa Doh from the Office. They came to his baptism and lunch afterwords.
Swimming at the Bear Paw Pool! Perfect for each of the kids. We are spending a lot of time here this summer!
Swimming lessons at NAU. The kids had a blast jumping off the high dive on the last day.
Big changes for me and my hair! Thanks, Li, for being amazing at what you do. It's a big change for me but I LOVE IT!

Brookie and her shiner!
