I should mention that we bought our very first house July 2012. We live at 3574 N. Wayman Street. It is on the north side of Linda Vista and a nice walking distance to church. We shopped around outside of the Cedar Hill ward, but this house was perfect for us and practically fell into our laps.
My dad was trying to convince us to buy the nice square lot next to this house. We were hesitant to build for whatever reason. (I am a really poor decision maker!). Josh decided to buy the square lot. My dad got in touch with Robbie Findlay (Findlay Toyota) about the front corner of their property for Josh and Tarah. Robbie mentioned he might sell his house in a year or two, so my dad gave him my phone number. Scott and I went to see the house. It was beautiful! But, not wanting to give away our excitement and love-at-first-sight, we kept our game faces on. The Findlay's decided to sell the house to us if we did not use a realtor. We were nervous about it, but went ahead anyway. We paid $385,000 at 3.85% (lucky for us, rates were at an all-time low). We closed in July and moved for the fifth time in 3 years (Once we bought the practice, we moved in with Les and Linda, then with the Crane's, then to Ponderosa Trails for six weeks which didn't feel right--we decided we should try to move after our last box was unpacked--and found a rental house above the hospital was still for rent. We moved there for over a year then bought our current house. Whew! Bless all the family that helped us through all of those moves).
Enjoying some green smoothies!
We had a family dinner at the church before Jesus and Lisa's wedding. We got to meet Jesus' siblings and parents and nieces. Fun night!
Alisa was sick and had to stay home from dyeing eggs at Grandma's house. Scott helped her dye her own and of course she was thrilled with all the one-on-one attention!
Easter morning
Grandma Hunt was deteriorating fast. Her cancer had spread and was stage 4. She'd gotten rid of her breast cancer twice--first by radiation, then by raw foods. But it came back. I love my grandma Hunt. We went over to see her in Snowflake. Unfortunately, we completely forgot to take a picture with her! GRRRR. It makes me so sad. It was the last time my family saw her alive. She was a beautiful and amazing person.
First day of school 2012
Slightly out of order, but in the Kindergarten classroom I ran my fingers through Alisa's hair only to discover that Jake had taken some nice, big chunks out of it! What a stinker!!!! They were doing free hair cuts and JC Penny so I made Jake pay the tip from his own money.
Brookie wanted French Braids with her little baby hair. So tiny!
One Sunday, the kids tied Scott up after church while he was napping.
Proof that Alisa played soccer when she was 5. She is in yellow. Every practice ended (half way through) with her stripping off shin guards and cleats and swinging on swings, saying she was all done. Yeah, she wasn't too into it!
