It's been awhile.
We survived Boards! Scott will hear in 3 weeks or so... we wish it wasn't so long. I am sure he passed, just waiting for the official word. We are hoping to receive two good bits of news then--that Scott passed boards and that my placenta is higher and I won't be at risk for a blood transfusion and/or emergency hysterectomy. (My ultrasound will be in about 3 weeks, too.)
Alisa has two new and very used phrases:
"Thank you, mama!" She uses this often and unprompted and it's the sweetest thing, which is nice since she just started throwing 2 year old fits (this is not so nice).
"No want it!" This is also used often. She tears out her ponytails, bows, etc. declaring, "no want it!" She is quite the little opinionated, sassy little toddler.
My sister came and stayed with us for almost a week to be Scott's patient for boards. She ended up as the back up. So we took advantage and went to Disneyland and California Adventure. We quickly realized the 2nd day that two days in a row is not a good idea with two little ones. They were all about melt-downs the second day. It was not so fun for awhile. Still, it was fun to hang out with my little sis. She was a good sport. We went to San Diego the next day to visit my brother and sis-in-law and nephew. It was more relaxed than Disney, so the kids were pretty good. We had a fun time with them and drove home later that night.
The next day was Sunday, officially the first day of Boards. I was asked to speak in Sacrament Meeting, but I took a rain check. I was so glad I did! It was hard enough to juggle the kids and get to church at all--we didn't make it on time. Jake gave his first talk in Primary and did a great job! I wish I could've and would've taped it or something. He was so brave and marched right up there. What a ham!
Monday Scott finished boards and we were all relieved. If only we could know the results sooner! It was a fun weekend/week with my sister. We never get one-on-one time and it was so much fun to have Li all to ourselves! The kids loved her and I really appreciated her helpfulness.
We hit the road Tuesday to come to the home town and veg with the families--splitting up our time, of course. It is so nice to hang out and do nothing for a week. We're happy to enjoy the clean air and wide open spaced here.
Sorry no pictures. Broken camera again.
Funny story...
My sister, Lisa, let Jake use her jacket as a blanket on the way home from San Diego. I was pumping gas, so I didn't hear the following conversation:
J: Mmmm, this smells good!
L: What does it smell like?
J: It smells like you!
L: Oh, I smell good?
J: Yeah, not like my mom.
L: Your mom doesn't smell good?
J: No, she is stinky... and you can tell her!
Nice. Well, that's all for now. Signing out as the stinky mama that I am!

Man, Jake is harsh! But I will have you know...that I think you smell like flowers! So don't let that get you down. I did get a good chuckle of it though.
I didn't want to tell you, but you stink. It's true. Glad Jake filled you in.
Li was here last night and said she had a great time. We miss you guys. Can't wait til you move to Flag and come see us.
PS Kidding about the stink. You only stink sometimes...haha.
I think you smell great!
Oh no, that is no good about your placenta issue. I really hope that works out. And I also think it is really dumb that it takes that long to figure out whether you pass boards or not.
So, should we just get used to you posting only twice/month? Miss you! (even if you stink...haha)
