Holiday weekend= Lots of time to play! We thought it was a fun weekend, but were surprised as it went on and on and on. Every day that week was a snow day (no school). Although Scott and I were both sick with head colds and felt miserable, we managed to take the kids to the Show Low pool. It has a water slide that Jake and Alisa LOVED and played on 90% of the time we were there. Brookie, luckily, slept the whole time. We had the pool mostly to ourselves. It was a fun time and now they ask to go daily.
Other than that, Scott found it in him to rebuild his legos from back in the day for Jake...
Impressive, I know! :)
Grandma Seaman got us this shoe rack to hang our winter clothes out to dry. We love it! Perfect.
Our happy baby! We had a scare the other day because her thumb got stuck in a hole in a binky we have. I didn't realize it until 45 minutes later. She was crying so unnaturally that I was trying to rock her to calm her down. Finally, as I was adjusting her on my lap, I thought why is she still holding onto this silly binky? I went to take it from her and saw that her thumb was purple and swollen. It was so sad! I wrote the company right away. They called that night and I am sending them in to be tested in their lab. Hopefully this will prevent the same thing happening to other babies! (Amanda, they are the same binkies that Malia uses).
Grandma Seaman sent over some glow sticks/flashlights for the kids. They are in heaven and insisted I take this picture with the lights off.
We got a HUGE snowstorm. I think it snowed four feet over 4 or 5 days. Schools were closed all week, which meant that Scott was home with us! It was nice to have him home for 8 days. We had a great time staying up late, taking naps, being lazy, and playing in the snow with the kids. The driveway this day was hard to shovel. That snow is heavy! It was up to my knees... not that I'm tall, but still!
The kids loved it! We had power all week, except for 8 hours on Friday. That was a bummer, but it didn't get too cold. We got pizza that night since we couldn't cook anything. Before sundown, we started setting up beds in the living room by the fire, but luckily it came on before 7, so we were able to have hot baths and normal beds. We love electricity and it is now part of Jake's standard prayer.
Oh what do you do in the winter time, when your power's out again? Well, we had a good time jumping and doing tricks on the mattress...
Brookie with her two teeth.
The snow does this weird thing. It starts sliding off our roof in a huge curve, but doesn't fall off. Just check out these icicles at a 90 degree angle.

I was trying to put Jake in time out, but he and Alisa were clinging to each other. Alisa (complete with her little lisp) said frantically He's my sister! No, mom! He's my sister!
Alisa wanted to go to school. When I explained that she could go when she was bigger, she said Yes! I go to school! To the pink school!
I was holding Alisa on my lap and singing when the following conversation took place:
That's yucky!
What?
You singing is yucky!
What do you mean? Does my breath stink?
Yeah, you singing is yucky!
Well, it WAS early in the morning!

Mom, please, oh, please can we get a pet? Maybe a dog or a cat?
I'm allergic to pets, Jake. I don't think we'll ever have one. They make me pretty sick.
You're allergic? Can we get a new mom so we can have a pet?
Mom! I popped my back knuckles!
Jake (praying):Please bless Alisa to have a birthday and she will turn three and I will turn 5. And please bless her to have a big cake for her birthday...
Alisa: (gasp) Yea! Thank you!
I was on the phone, asking Scott to pick up my "medicine" (birth control). Jake asked what my medicine was for, so I told him it was so I didn't have another baby. He got all worried and practically screamed No, dad! Don't get mom's medicine! We need another baby! I want a brother!
Don't hold your breath, bud. Not happening any time soon.
The kids almost never ask to hold Brookie, but lately they have started playing with her, kissing her, and wanting to hold her. She is so much more interactive. Love this age.
We got to hop over to Snowflake one afternoon to visit with my Grandma (Zena) and Grandpa (Bruce) Hunt, Aunt Lois, and Great Uncle Doug and Aunt Pat. It was nice to visit for a couple of hours. I have so many memories of my Hunt grandparents. It was fun to grow up close (relatively--2 1/2 hours) to them. They are amazing people. I love them!
Unfortunately, my kids went a bit crazy at the end of our visit. Brooke was screaming and the other two were running around, whining, and generally wreaking havoc. Oh, well. It was worth it to visit with my G'parents.

What a fun post! I envy your trip to see the Grandparents Hunt. Love them! Ashley absolutely bawled her eyes out the other night thinking about Grandpa Hunt dying someday. Such a sweetie.

Freaky icicles! Your kids say the funniest things. I love Jakes prayer about the birthday cake.
