Peace

Today I discovered that our bathroom door locks.

I gave my kids a halloween sucker and locked myself in. (Did I mention this was around 11 am? It wasn't 7 am... don't worry!)

I took a nice, hot shower. Alone. No holding the shower curtain closed with one foot while Alisa struggles to tear it open and get soaked. No keeping Jake's undies on so he doesn't hop in and join me.

It was just me.

I felt at peace.

Until I got out, of course. Jake promptly informed me that Alisa chewed her sucker stick up and swallowed it. He promises. I have yet to find it so I think it might be true.

She didn't choke. And I still got a moment of peace.

That is awesome. Remember, I locked Eli and Hailey in a running vehicle for a half an hour the other day. The sucker stick will digest.

I locked myself in the car in the garage the other night. It was quiet! :)

You have to get on my blog and click on the Hillers link. Shannon (Johnson) just wrote a post about wanting to be a SAHM. It made me feel like I should never complain about my child woes again...oh, and read Karen's, too (We Are Anderson's Three). :(

Love you. Thanks for letting us CRASH you pad!!

Here's to those moments!!! I love getting a shower to myself. In fact if I can take a bath alone, that's even better. I've gotten pretty good at being speedy, just so I don't have to get my kids dressed for the second time in a day. Who knew what motherhood would bring? Cute blog.

Nice! It has been soooo long since I had a private shower...;) I just think to myself "someday they will be grown and you will be so sad" - repeat over and over all day some days;)

Too funny! David LOVES to shower with me too. I try to sneak in without him noticing! I am glad you had your peace (hey even if the stick doesn't show up you still had your peace.)
