"When I get bigger, I can use lots of sharp knives!"
"When I get bigger, I can use the zizzors!" (that pronunciation always cracks me up.)
This morning he hopped out of the booster seat, stood tall, and said, "Look, mom, I AM bigger! I can use the long knife! I will show you!" No, Jake, you have to be as big as me to use the knife. "Oh, you mean this big?" And he stretched his hands way up.
Oh, it's great to be bigger!

I love the "get bigger" wishes and presumptions... I loved your last post about child rearing, sorry I don't have anything to add to it or advice because I'm going thru the same type of thing with Ruby right now...But I really appreciated what YOU wrote, thanks! It helped me see it in a new light...for sure...I've actually done a bit better with Ruby this last week for some reason and I think it's because I've had some fun with her, I found myself giggling WITH her (like real laughing) the other day and it felt good,(I think it may have been easier because I'd just woken up from a nap and was feeling a little loopy still-we were just being silly together) usually I'm laughing at her or faking it cuz it's not so funny but we were on the same page and laughing together, since that day, we've just been getting along better and I've tried to approach things in a diffent way- with more love...anyway I bet your such a great mom, it'd be fun to see you as a mommy.
Kids love to strive to become bigger and I wish that I could be smaller....interesting how it works!
Jake is hilarious.
Jake is always thinking, isn't he? Reminds me of Liv that way. What he's really doing is showing you that he hears what you say, and is trying to understand the application in his life. Smartie.
I love these stories! They are so adorable! I miss those kids so much. And Alisa is getting so big! I can't believe it! I am so sad I missed you this weekend. Love you!
